Mission Statement

Our Mission at the Parliament of Sustainable Fashion (PoSF) is to revolutionise the dialogue surrounding sustainable fashion. We believe that access to the sustainability debate should not be the privilege of a select few but a right for all.
PoSF serves as an inclusive platform that welcomes and honours all approaches to clothing care and sustainability. In this collaborative space, we aim to empower ourselves and eachother through our garments, questioning the idea of agency and autonomy.
Within PoSF, we cultivate an atmosphere of inclusivity and democracy, where diverse methods and insights about clothing care are not only acknowledged but celebrated. We break free from the confines of conventional capitalism by fostering emotional connections between individuals and their clothing, as well as among our community.
PoSF is guided by feminist, pluralised, and decolonised perspectives, committed to reshaping the narrative of sustainable fashion. We are dedicated to creating a discourse that promotes inclusivity and democracy, ensuring that every voice is valued and heard as we work together towards a more sustainable and equitable fashion industry.

Where are the Missing Masses, the Sociology of a few mundane artefacts.

Bruno latour, 1992

"We have been able to delegate to nonhumans not only force as we have known it for centuries but also values, duties, and ethics. It is because of this morality that we, humans, behave so ethically, no matter how weak and wicked we feel we are"

Making Private Matters Public in Temporary Assemblies

Kristina lindström & Åsa Ståhl, 2012

“The sewing circle not only as a forum in which pleasure is combined with usefulness, but also a forum in which women themselves have been able to set the agenda and therefore discuss issues that they consider important… the sewing circle is an example of what she would call a ‘hidden female public’, or a ‘shadow parliament’”.

Kenneth pucker, 2022

"Asking consumers to match their intention with action and to purchase sustainable, more expensive fashion is not working. Were consumers really willing to spend more, sifting through claims, labels and complexity is too much to ask."
