School Workshop II

Parliament of Sustainable Fashion organised a second workshop at a Bolzano highschool. This time, the participants were a group of young women aged 18 to 19. The workshop took place over two days, with each day having two sessions lasting 50 minutes.

On the first day, they spent time reflecting on their clothes and preparing their speeches. The second day they conducted an assembly and held a voting session.

The change in how excited they were from one day to the next was noticeable. On the second day, they came in full of energy to give their speeches. The classroom was set up in a debate style, with two rows of tables facing each other. Because these students were older than those in previous workshops at the school, their thoughts about the topic were more detailed and abstract.

Themes from this event that seemed of key importance to those attending were related to locality and small scale production, with a hung parliament after voting, between Sarner Topper and Wool Socks. Both garments made locally in South Tyrol from local sheep wool, after a revote it was Sarner Topper that won over the participants.
