5 December 2022
On December 3, 2022, there was a second Parliament of Sustainable Fashion (POSF) assembly held outside the university. This happened because there was an invitation to take part in a design event focused on 'alternatives to consumerism,' and a two-hour workshop slot was allocated.
The main goal of this workshop was the same as in previous POSF meetings: to discuss and choose which piece of clothing should be the leader of the POSF. To help with this discussion, tools were provided to help participants think more deeply about their clothes' stories, experiences, and qualities that make them sustainable.
Each participant was asked to give a speech on behalf of their garment explaining why their garment should be the leader. After the speeches a voting system was introduced, where everyone voted anonymously for whichever garment they believed should be the leader. In this case, there was a tie and the two front runners, made another argument finishing with a revote between the two and finally the announcing of the winner- Black Pullie 'for bros'.
This workshop proved to be extremely enriching, fostering discussions that were diverse, imaginative, enjoyable, and engaging. It not only encouraged participants to think critically about sustainability in fashion but also promoted lively and insightful interactions.
